Skin Cancer
The most common type of cancer that we get is skin cancer. Skin Cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the skin. There are several types of skin cancer. Most skin cancers form in older people on parts of the body exposed to the sun or in people who have weakened immune systems.
People of all colors and races get skin cancer, but persons who sunburn easily with light skin have a higher risk. Risk factors include: sunburns, family history of skin cancer, exposure to x-rays, weakened immune system, scarring caused by a disease or burn, and exposure to cancer-causing compounds.
